“…
The court’s chief prosecutor, Karim Khan, had requested the arrest warrants in May, saying there were reasonable grounds to believe Netanyahu and Gallant bore “criminal responsibility” for causing mass starvation in Gaza that constituted war crimes and crimes against humanity.

On Thursday the court said it had found reasonable grounds to believe that Deif was responsible for crimes against humanity and war crimes including murder, torture, rape and hostage taking.

The US has previously welcomed ICC war crimes warrants against Vladimir Putin and other Russian officials for atrocities committed in Ukraine, while denouncing the court’s pursuit of Netanyahu and Gallant, a mixed stance which has exposed the Biden administration to accusations of double standards from many UN members, particularly from the global south.

The three-judge panel wrote in its unanimous decision to issue warrants for Netanyahu and Gallant: “The chamber considered that there are reasonable grounds to believe that both individuals intentionally and knowingly deprived the civilian population in Gaza of objects indispensable to their survival, including food, water, and medicine and medical supplies, as well as fuel and electricity.” …”

So what does that mean realistically for these guys? Are they basically stuck in Israel for the rest of their lives unless they want to wind up in the dock?

It means they can visit the US or Russia (eventually) whenever they want.

But not South Africa, for instance, in the case of the Israelis. Basically, they have to be careful about visiting client states of their enemies if those client states participate in the ICC. Also may be dicey to visit much of Europe.

Deif is more at risk of arrest in a wider swath of territories, maybe?🤔

Considering the lack of political leverage he has, comparatively speaking, yes. Don't see anybody rushing in to take Bibi into custody.

Dief has been dead for some time. Hamas isn't worried about his warrants.

It doesn't look like the house bill to address this is going to be allowed to move forward. Once there is a Republican House and Senate it will be addressed, which means bibi can't travel to certain areas for a few months.

France says Netanyahu has 'immunity' from ICC warrants

Provisions for immunity from prosecution at the International Criminal Court apply to Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu, the French foreign ministry said Wednesday.

It said the Israeli leader was covered by immunity rules that apply to states which are not a party to the ICC. Israel is not an ICC member.

"A state cannot be held to act in a way that is incompatible with its obligations in terms of international law with regards to immunities granted to states which are not party to the ICC," the French statement said.

"Such immunities apply to Prime Minister Netanyahu and other ministers in question, and must be taken into consideration should the ICC ask us to arrest them and hand them over," it said.

Earlier Wednesday, Foreign Minister Jean-Noel Barrot had already said that France considered that some leaders could enjoy immunity from ICC prosecution.

Asked if France would arrest Netanyahu if he stepped on French territory, Jean-Noel Barrot did not give a specific answer in an interview with Franceinfo radio.

He said France "is very committed to international justice and will apply international law based on its obligations to cooperate with the ICC."

But he added that the court's statute "deals with questions of immunity for certain leaders".

"It is ultimately up to the judicial authorities to decide," he added.

The ICC this month issued warrants for Netanyahu, former Israeli defence minister Yoav Gallant and Hamas military chief Mohammed Deif. Netanyahu has slammed the move.

The EU's foreign policy chief Josep Borrell has said the arrest warrants are "binding" and should be implemented.

However unlike some European states, France has so far taken a more cautious stance on the warrants.

Barrot's comments marked the first time a top French official has evoked a possible immunity.

Do you ever stick around to comment on all the videos and articles you drop around here? You have a habit of drive-by posting that is a bit annoying.

Let's start with this video. What are your thoughts on protestors exercising their first amendment rights? Are you in favor of it? Or are you looking forward to January, when that right will be stripped away by a president who believes protestors who speak out against our government should be gassed and even shot?
I'd love to hear your thoughts. Come out from behind your passive-aggressive video-bombing schtick and actually engage in conversation.

The Hesbollah cease fire was a step and mitigates spreading of the war. Bibi and Hamas need to get aboard the Gaza cease fire before L';enfante Orange 2.0 is upon us.

Interrupting and blocking a permitted parade isn’t exercising 1st amendment rights. The NY mayor and NYPD believe this as well so no reason to wait until Jan. If they stood on the side of the route and protested then that would have been within their rights…as would be getting a permit and having their own parade. Was there something specific about the parade that they were protesting or were they just trying to steal the national spotlight?

Correct, and those that interrupted the parade were rightly arrested.

My question to you is why post the video without offering some comment on why you are posting it or what your views are? Unless your entire reason for posting it is to show instances of people on the left behaving poorly. Like I said, passive-aggressive trolling.

And to answer your question on if they were trying to steal the spotlight, of course they were. If you are fighting for a cause, doing it in the shadows doesn’t help shed light on it. You do it where people can see you.

lol at the wild hyperbole and fear mongering. just another reason the left got destroyed. You don't want to hear any thoughts but an echo of yourself. You should just talk into a recorder and play it back on continuous loop.
