Also, Trump gets things done with his fellow autocrats. I don't think anyone denies that. The question is at what cost? And can get get things done done with out democratic allies? Because he's shown no ability in the past to do that, and the prognosis is not promising.
 
I'm glad if Trump's craven autocratic tendencies have the benefit of leading to an end to this war. I also have no love for Hamas and think the Palestinians share at least some blame for allowing them to control Gaza, understanding it's a complex situation that Israel contributed to as well. What I can't abide is MAGA numbnuts acting like Trump can do no wrong and Biden had nothing to do with helping the world out of this situation.

Agree. Whatever it takes. I think there's a valid criticism of Biden's team for NOT being able to do what is needed with autocrats to keep the world at peace. But that does assume we're willing to pay the price of appeasing people like Bibi, Putin, Orban, etc. I get the principled position that we shouldn't negotiate with terrorists. I also get the practical view that when terrorists control much of the world, and the incoming US administration could be fairly characterized as having terroristic tendencies, you have to be flexible.

The State dept most certainly did NOT credit trump for anything.
The facts remain: the framework of the deal appears exactly the same as what President Joe Biden proposed in May — a three-stage agreement.
Trump had nothing to do with anything in May other than fall asleep in a courtroom.

Regardless of what you want to believe the facts are the facts. Denying them makes you look like a Blue Trumper.

But since we are talking facts, and not making up our own truth, the FACT is the time stamp on the deal pre-dates trump 2.0. And nothing he says will ever change that.

But of course now the deal may be tentative and shadowed with uncertainty.

True, but that framework was going nowhere until Trump's "Hell to pay" threats to Hamas and his pressuring of Netanyahu to close the deal. Of course, we should also credit the IDF in knocking out Hezbollah/Iran to where they are unable to support the Hamas terrorists.

The IDF gets most of the credit. They can now operate virtually anywhere east of Natanz.

While that would be a trump like thing he would do, there is no need. Nobody is dumb enough to believe, not even Biden, that this isn’t happening because of his comments about releasing hostages before he took office. So trump gets the win, Biden gets a win, hamas gets to hang on to some hostages a little longer to further exploit their position, and Israel gets to hang on to the possibility that the war will start back up so they can chase futility of trying to kill all hamas fighters. TRUMP = WINNING.
