“… While recognition is a symbolic act of support for Palestinian self-determination, the prospect of a viable Palestinian state — on territory now occupied or blockaded by the Israeli military — is in many ways more elusive than it has been in decades.

“The hope for a two-state solution is fading, but we cannot let that light go out,” Britain’s prime minister, Keir Starmer, said in a video statement. “Today, to revive the hope of peace and a two-state solution, I state clearly as prime minister of this great country that the United Kingdom formally recognizes the State of Palestine.”

Canada and Australia confirmed their decisions in statements released just before Mr. Starmer’s. Portugal’s foreign minister, Paulo Rangel, announced the country’s decision on Sunday afternoon from New York, saying a two-state solution was the “only path to a just and lasting peace.” …”

Trump says he won’t allow Israel to annex West Bank

“… “I will not allow Israel to annex the West Bank. Nope, I will not it. It’s not going to happen,” he said in the Oval Office, acknowledging that he had spoken to Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu earlier in the day on the topic. “It’s been enough. It’s time to stop now,” he added.

… Saudi Foreign Minister Prince Faisal bin Farhan Al Saud, who attended the meeting with Trump, told reporters on Thursday that he believes the president understands “very well the risks and dangers of annexation in the West Bank.”…”

I’ve been very critical of the structure of GHF and I don’t have a lot of faith in Samaritan’s Purse to be anything other than a Trump Admin shill, but in the interests of being open-minded:

“I recently returned from Gaza, where I witnessed the humanitarian catastrophe that has resulted from Hamas’s Oct. 7, 2023, attack on Israel. The crisis defies comparison to anything I have encountered in nearly four decades of responding to disasters in more than 100 countries. Governance has collapsed, routes are dangerous, and people are suffering immensely.

… I arrived in Gaza a skeptic of GHF but left an advocate. Simply put, the common portrayal of this organization radically distorts reality….”

Anyone who knows anything about famine and starvation knows that peanut butter paste is nearly a miracle therapeutic food used in preventing severe MALNUTRITION from advancing to starvation. It is one of the reasons we don’t see vast We Are The World starvation events so much anymore.

Pretending that is a luxury item is intentionally and genuinely evil, IMO.
