I’m talking about your second paragraph. In a time when many Palestinians are incredibly worried, scared, grieving, you’re going to throw that shit at them too. That’s fucked up.Read what Huckabee said today. It's over. Gaza is over. The West Bank is over. It's going to be Greater Israel and who the hell knows what they are going to do to the Arab populations. I've resisted the descriptor genocide for a number of reasons but that seems a likely result of what is coming.
What shit? They were literally saying that they wanted to punish Kamala Harris. There are interviews after interviews where people over and over again said their goal was to teach Kamala Harris a lesson. Well, good for them. Seeing as how punishing Kamala was their goal, and they didn't think at all about the welfare of anyone else, I'm all out of fucks to give.I’m talking about your second paragraph. I stand by what I said, I found it incredibly fucked up. You don't seem to have an issue with it.What shit? They were literally saying that they wanted to punish Kamala Harris. I will always support every innocent person who is being oppressed by anyone. But FAFO is a thing. Dearborn literally did this to themselves.
What am I supposed to have an issue with? The Dearborn folks got exactly what they wanted. Things played out exactly as predicted. They made a choice. The wrong choice. And they didn't think about the welfare of anyone else in making that choice.I stand by what I said, I found it incredibly fucked up. You don't seem to have an issue with it.
So what does that mean realistically for these guys? Are they basically stuck in Israel for the rest of their lives unless they want to wind up in the dock?Updated with a direct link to The Guardian article since the BSKY link broke/was deleted.
“…
The court’s chief prosecutor, Karim Khan, had requested the arrest warrants in May, saying there were reasonable grounds to believe Netanyahu and Gallant bore “criminal responsibility” for causing mass starvation in Gaza that constituted war crimes and crimes against humanity.
On Thursday the court said it had found reasonable grounds to believe that Deif was responsible for crimes against humanity and war crimes including murder, torture, rape and hostage taking.
The US has previously welcomed ICC war crimes warrants against Vladimir Putin and other Russian officials for atrocities committed in Ukraine, while denouncing the court’s pursuit of Netanyahu and Gallant, a mixed stance which has exposed the Biden administration to accusations of double standards from many UN members, particularly from the global south.
The three-judge panel wrote in its unanimous decision to issue warrants for Netanyahu and Gallant: “The chamber considered that there are reasonable grounds to believe that both individuals intentionally and knowingly deprived the civilian population in Gaza of objects indispensable to their survival, including food, water, and medicine and medical supplies, as well as fuel and electricity.” …”
Yep. I doubt we would do much to him anytime in the near future but let's say he overflies Europe or something. It means they can visit the US or Russia (eventually) whenever they want.
But not South Africa, for instance, in the case of the Israelis. Basically, they have to be careful about visiting client states of their enemies if those client states participate in the ICC. Also may be dicey to visit much of Europe. It means they can visit the US or Russia (eventually) whenever they want.
Considering the lack of political leverage he has, comparatively speaking, yes. Don't see anybody rushing in to take Bibi into custody. But not South Africa, for instance, in the case of the Israelis. Deif is more at risk of arrest in a wider swath of territories, maybe?![]()
Dief has been dead for some time. Hamas isn't worried about his warrants. But not South Africa, for instance, in the case of the Israelis. It doesn't look like the house bill to address this is going to be allowed to move forward. Once there is a Republican House and Senate it will be addressed, which means bibi can't travel to certain areas for a few months. So what does that mean realistically for these guys? Are they basically stuck in Israel for the rest of their lives unless they want to wind up in the dock?
