Forgive me if something of this nature is already a thread but I did not find one in my search.
What say you about the influence of Israel and Israeli interests in American politics?
Curious your thoughts.
We should no longer provide American taxpayer money to Israel. They have universal healthcare. If they want to continue to fund Iron Dome, then do it themselves or with Israeli influence money. What are your thoughts?
I’m with the line of thinking but I think it’s a bit extreme to cut all funding. I do think it should be more conditional than it seems to be, however. We should no longer provide American taxpayer money to Israel. They have universal healthcare. It used to be that we thought Mossad provided valuable intelligence to us but that no longer seems the case.
AIPAC and Israeli-influence money deleterious to our nation and politics. They are contributing to anti-Semitism, despite their claims of combating anti-Semitism.
Too many of our politicians are influenced by Israeli interests and funding.
Time to tell Israel it won't get our money anymore. If there are mutual intelligence interests, fair enough. No need to de-couple completely, unless they want to should we finally show our weight in this relationship. But no more money to Israel. And any American politician that is funded by AIPAC or other Israeli interests needs to be voted out.

Maybe Israel could rebuild America...We should no longer provide American taxpayer money to Israel. They have universal healthcare. If they want to continue to fund Iron Dome, then do it themselves or with Israeli influence money.

Can you help me out with why it is extreme to cut all funding? What makes Israel an ally in any sense at this point? I am asking genuinely. I know I have become poisoned on them as a nation at this point, but I welcome someone talking me off that ledge.I’m with the line of thinking but I think it’s a bit extreme to cut all funding. Like, a genocidal asshole like Netanyahu shouldn’t be able to drag us into bullshit like he has, or make us complicit in genocide… and in a practical sense we have little to no say in their foreign affairs.
They need a serious timeout until Netanyahu is gone and there’s a less bloodthirsty successor in place.
Israel is currently costing us $2 billion daily in addition to the Neverending cost of trying to protect against the inevitable terrorist reprisals that come from this mess. And yes, I attribute our participation in this war to Israel. Trump is stupid and vain but he had to be led to this by Israel. We don't generally arbitrarily give Israel money. We give Israel military aid. Most of that aid is used to buy US made military equipment. The United States and Israel also co-develop military technology. This is technology that both countries utilize and deploy. So, I'm not sure there is a clear understand what "cut off" would mean in this situation. Israel is our closest ally in the region. Abandoning that relationship would open paths for both China and Russia to gain a stronger foothold in the region. There are a number of ways the USA benefits from this relationship even as their leadership pushes the country further down the path of authoritarianism.
There are plenty of world leaders who deserve your ire as much as Putin and Netanyahu. Abdel Fattah al-Burhan is overseeing an actual genocide. Xi has spent the majority of his reign ethnically cleansing Tibet and Xinjiang. Min Aung Hlaing has probably engaged in ethnic cleansing and genocide against the Rohingya. The USA has a hand in some of these...actively funding sources and countries that have contributed to the genocide in Sudan and fostering a continued relationship with China that emboldens Xi. The USA has contributed far more to China's largess than any 3 billion in mutually beneficial military aid to Israel.
