Israel in our Politics

Obviously I’m still going to vote for him but it’s disappointing that Roy Cooper has taken so much money from AIPAC and others
We have a duopoly.

As I used to teach my students, that means we're only one step away from a monopoly.

So you do what you can, given the situation.

I would like to point out that "Zionism is treasonous" is an incredibly anti-Semitic statement. It's why I have that poster on super ignore most of the time, because a shockingly large number of his posts are anti-Semitic.

It is one thing to criticize Zionism. Or disagree with it. Or note its pernicious effects on politics. But it is not treasonous and that bulldozes through any line of respectable conversation.

I’m with the line of thinking but I think it’s a bit extreme to cut all funding. I do think it should be more conditional than it seems to be, however.

Like, a genocidal asshole like Netanyahu shouldn’t be able to drag us into bullshit like he has, or make us complicit in genocide… and in a practical sense we have little to no say in their foreign affairs.

They need a serious timeout until Netanyahu is gone and there’s a less bloodthirsty successor in place

Why should we continue to support this nation? they don't act in our best interest...with our money.

At some point they need to figure it out over there... and frankly they're part of the problem in the Middle East.

You’re right in a limited way. Zionism is racism. Zionism promoted as US government policy is treasonous because it places the interests of a foreign interest above that of our country.

Dual loyalty is an understatement.

There really is no reason why we should tolerate this anti-Semitic asshole who doesn't even understand what treasonous means. It does not mean "putting a foreign interest ahead" as that would implicate millions of immigrants and immigrant families who are in fact allowed to maintain affection for their home countries.

And no Zionism isn't racism and that again demonstrates he has no fucking idea what he is talking about.
