Not defending Hamas here, but Hamas and Israel had a ceasefire that Israel decided to call off. Netanyahu was almost removed prior to Oct 7, but has been hanging on since. Even Bill Clinton said that Netanyahu wants to prolong things either way Iran so he can stay in power.
