That’s what I’m trying to do, educate myself and learn by asking questions. I definitely don’t have all of the answers, or any of the answers. I’ve tried to acknowledge in several posts that Trump may well be correct in this strike, and I’ve tried to imply that I am sure that our military and intelligence communities know far more than I do and had particular information that led us to decide that now was the time to forcefully attack.
I think it’s totally valid to question the wisdom of what we’ve just done, though. That’s not to say that I inherently or reflexively think that we are wrong. I don’t know if we are wrong. I don’t know if we are right. I’m just afraid right now that we’ve kicked the hornets nest. I don’t mean to say that I’m afraid that Iran could “defeat” us in a war or anything like that, I just mean that I’m afraid that further escalation will lead to catastrophic consequences for our troops or citizens abroad.
I’ve said it and I fully believe it, if this whole thing ends with Iran’s nuclear capability eliminated and their regime crippled, I’ll shower Trump with praise. I don’t like the guy personally, obviously, but he’s my president and I certainly wish for his success and that of our country.
