Thanks.I'm glad that this brings you joy. I hope that it's everything you expect.
Did I catch a TACO reference in there?
I would think anyone who listened/listens to hip hop would be drawn in for more than 20 seconds by the my melody x mighty healthy beat alone. They lost me at 17-20 seconds in cuz it was nothingā¦ā¦.
Iām definitely the wrong generationā¦ā¦.this is BORING and repetitious.
There was melody and beat in the first 17-20 seconds?I would think anyone who listened/listens to hip hop would be drawn in for more than 20 seconds by the my melody x mighty healthy beat alone.
There was melody and beat in the first 17-20 seconds?
Never have listened to either of those men. Or, anyone else in a āCowboyā hat.Yes, yes there was.
But away your David Allen Coe and Waylon Jennings and listen to some other types of music, open up your mind. I bet you'll start to enjoy it.
He'll have an impact similar to the Backstreet Boys??? The fuck? Where have you been for the last 30 years? Definitely not listening to hip hop, for sure.Never have listened to either of those men. Or, anyone else in a āCowboyā hat.
Thanks for the assumption.
There was a beatā¦.I missed it the first go-through.
Glad you like it. Itāll have a lasting impact similar to the Backstreet Boys or Spice Girls or NSynch (sp?)
Sorry. He'll have an impact similar to the Backstreet Boys??? The fuck? Where have you been for the last 30 years? Definitely not listening to hip hop, for sure.
Given your complete lack of knowledge of Ghostface, I'm fairly confident you're a "Cowboy" hat fan.
Wait, you listened to NWA, Snoop, Pac, yet you think Ghost will have the impact of the Backstreet Boys, Nsync, Spice Girls. What???Sorry.
I liked the Beatles, Stones, Stevie Wonder, Elton John, Earth, Wind, and Fire, George Clinton and Parliament/Funkadelic, The Drifters, Four Tops, Bruce Springsteen and the E Street Band, Lynyrd Skynyrd, Eric Clapton, Cream, Queen (before the Live Aid concert), U2 (first heard them on WXYC long before the ā83 Springfest Concert), the Go-Goās (before they were on MTV)ā¦..N.W.A., Snoop, Tupacā¦..
No Cowboy hat guys. Loretta Lynn, Johnny Cash, Patsy Cline, Doc Watson, Willie Nelson, Earl Scruggsā¦.?????ā¦..sure.
I bought and played albumsā¦ā¦all the way throughā¦..each time.
ā¦ā¦and as a child of the ā70ās we made a shitload of mix tapes.
Is Wu Tang an all-time great collective? Yes.
Does this song have staying power? I doubt it. Most songs donāt. This song seems dullā¦.but, Iām 63. And, white.
I get that. For me, I'm the opposite(?) I can't get into a lot of the new hip hop. I'm not sure why...hopefully it's not that I'm turning into the new generation of "Back in my day music what good, nowadays...." old folks.I'm closer to the right generation and find a lot of 90s rap to be boring lately..
Stuff I would've liked/listened to 15-20 years ago
Unfortunately a lot of Wu falls in that category for me
Yes, I'm (somewhat) familiar with JID, and definitely like some of his songs. But, overall, I'm not going to turn his stuff off it it's playing, but I'm not going to specifically put it on...if that makes sense. The new Clipse album is similar for me. It was one that I liked a lot on first play but then liked it less and less each additional time I listened to it. I think the anticipation had something to do with it, but not sure.I like a lot of Griselda music. At the same time they release too much and I don't find myself rushing to every project
Similar to Wu Tang in a lot of ways. I used to have gigabytes of every Wu affiliate you can imagine on my computer. A lot of that would put me to sleep now
I think there's just too much good music first, good rapping second, hip-hop out there. If the music isn't right it's hard to care how good the rapping is. Of course a lot of modern hip-hop is just the opposite (good music, no rapping)
As for new music, not sure if you're familiar with JID, but he just release a great album. It's not far off from that Clipse album, which I never thought I'd be saying so soon (also the Clipse are featured on JID)
It sounds like it could have been released in 90s. A Goodie Mob feel to it. And speaking of Griselda, WSG is on the opening track
