I think that's a fair answer. Despite what the far-right tends to believe, there is a difference between the news reporters on Fox News and those who are giving their opinions. There is an equation for success if you are are trying to appeal to the far right and that equation starts with conspiracy theories.

I hope he actually did it, TBH, because how sad it would be if they are charging an intellectually challenged individual who could be easily encouraged to confess because he is one of 25,000 people with a particular pair of sneakers. It sounds like they have meaningful circumstantial evidence, so hopefully that is true.

Seems questionable that an intellectually challenged young man would be able to build pipe bombs on is own.

Autistic-like speaks one hell of a lot more to behavior and affect than intelligence.

They don't have to actually be workable to be illegal.

My autistic son is a Lego master. He's 11 and he builds transformer toys. That actually transform. He does multi-media installation art, like his Kylo Ren that had a Lego torso, some cloth for the cape, and a painted toothpick for the light saber.

I suspect his autism has contributed to his Lego ability, not detracted from it. When he's an adult he absolutely could build a pipe bomb, easily. He won't.

And this is not the son who at age 6 learned all the capitals of all the countries in the world, and how to pronounce that capital in the local language. His autism pushes him in different directions.
