I think the J6 case was going to be a lot trickier to get a conviction, but based on what I saw from the J6 committee and the NYE testimony drop from the prior Smith hearing, it sounds to me like it was a reasonable case to bring.

also the flight risk thing was one of boiler plate reasons for the filing before the judge (i.e. one in a list of possible reasons in the statute), which Smith was trying to explain but was not allowed to.

Not sure McCarthy is trying to be relevant. He doesn't have a future with MAGA.
 
If the Public watched/listened to the entire hearing, Smith would look good and Trump not so. But we all know that FauxNews et al will ONLY show the Pub soundbites and tell the MAGA cult members how wrong Smith was and that Don the Con did nothing wrong. Rinse and repeat
