Selfishly, the ability to get better, rarer bourbon has been nice. Unicorns have been getting easier to locate.

My grandfather was a Canadian Club drinker. “CC on the rocks.” He’s the only person I recall seeing drink Canadian whiskey. When we’d go out to eat, and he’d order a “CC on the rocks,” I often wondered if the server knew what he was ordering. Sometimes they’d have to ask him a second time, but they’d come back with what he ordered.

First mixed drink I ever had was Seagrams and Seven. It was still a Canadian whiskey at the time.

Oh they will know later in the night or next morning. As the usual poor undergrad at UNC back in the day, we snuck Vladimere or Popov into Kenan. $5 a bottle and $100 worth of pain to the porcelain god. Ugggh. I couldn't drink vodka again until my 30s.
This-- i drink Titos, but bc of hangover issues with cheaper brands. I also get the costco Kirkland branded goose knockoff and that works in a similar manner
