It’s child abuse. Period. Major hospitals are FINALLY reversing course.
In 2019 in the US, there were 85 surgeries performed on minors 17 years old and younger. 94% of them were top surgeries - breast/chest related.

It is not apples to oranges, but in 2019 there were over 4,000 breast augmentation surgeries performed on patients aged 19 and younger.

I think I must have missed your post about this scourge of child abuse regarding boob jobs and the need to ban the procedure. That is to say nothing about nose jobs (30,000-35,000 per year on patients aged 19 and younger).

I firmly believe that no cosmetic surgery should be performed on children unless it is to correct some genetic deformity that must be corrected in childhood. The problem will, of course, be where to draw that line.

There will always be outliers who do crazy things. Republicans are experts at making outliers into the boogeyman.

You don't care. You're performing. If you did care, you'd be performing with your real identity. You're on here running game. I would not be shocked if you were a kash patel like brown man...or Myron gaines/Emanuel Acho type black dude.

My thing: w tf do you get all the energy and time for this nonsense? You're clearly not distracted by (insert term for woman here). If you're a white guy, are you disabled?
Weird take

Because it’s so common and the media always tries to hide it.

The Gun Violence Archive, an independent organization that tracks gun-related violence in the U.S., defines mass shootings as incidents in which there are “a minimum of four victims shot, either injured or killed, not including any shooter who may also have been killed or injured in the incident.” Under this standard, there were 5,748 mass shootings between Jan. 1, 2013, and Sept. 15, 2025, according to the GVA. “OF THAT NUMBER OF INCIDENTS, there have been FIVE CONFIRMED Transgender shooters,” Mark Bryant, the GVA’s founding executive director, told us in an email.

The five mass shootings in the GVA’s database with a transgender shooting suspect are the August shooting in Minneapolis, the March 2023 shooting at a school in Nashville, the November 2022 shooting at a gay bar in Colorado Springs, Colorado, the May 2019 shooting at a school in Highlands Ranch, Colorado, and the September 2018 shooting at a warehouse in Aberdeen, Maryland. However, Anderson Lee Aldrich, the convicted shooter in Colorado Springs, identified as nonbinary, according to Aldrich’s lawyer. A transgender individual identifies with a gender that does not match their sex assigned at birth, while a nonbinary individual identifies as neither exclusively male nor female. While many nonbinary individuals identify as transgender, not all do, the Human Rights Campaign says.
. . .
Overall, Bryant said the number of transgender mass shooters could be as high as eight, if some individuals whose gender identity hasn’t yet been verified are included. That would still mean that transgender individuals were responsible for less than 0.1% of mass shootings in the last 12 years, according to the GVA. (It would be less than 0.2% of incidents from 2018 until now.
. . .
The Violence Prevention Project at Hamline University defines a mass shooting as “four or more people shot and killed, excluding the shooter, in a public location, with no connection to underlying criminal activity, such as gangs or drugs.” By that more restrictive measure, the project’s mass shooter database identifies 201 mass shooters between 1966 and 2024, and only one of them – Audrey Hale, the 2023 Nashville school shooting suspect – was transgender, James Densley, the project’s co-founder and deputy director, told us in an email.

Yeah, but have to count the hundred of times right-wing media reporter the shooter as trans when they weren’t. Consumers of right-wing news never got the update, so they likely figure the number of Tran mass shooters hovers between 10 and 50%.

There are always things in life that we don’t like or don’t agree with. But let’s be serious. This is a made up wedge issue because it affects a minuscule % of the population. This does NOT affect anybody in the country except the actual people involved w the procedures and their families. When a political party uses these type of issues to rile their party up you know that is is BS. I mean really, this might affect up to .0001% of the population.

And where were you when Trump was saying that babies were getting murdered in the 3rd trimester? Were you out calling him a liar? Wanting the American people to know the truth? Of course you weren’t. You love the bs because you know it riles up the base of your party.

“… While the pictures of Ms. Noem’s husband with what appear to be enormous inflated balloons under his spandex shirt ricocheted across the internet, becoming a political punchline for her many, many enemies, the reaction back on the proverbial ranch was a little more … tenderhearted.

In interviews with locals and friends of the couple before and after The Daily Mail published its pictures, the prevailing sense that emerged was this: People can’t help but feel sorry for Bryon Noem.

His marriage had been the talk of the prairie since long before Tuesday.

… A lot of people here say they remember Ms. Noem when she was still Kristi Arnold, working in her mother’s coffee shop in Watertown. (It was called Past Times.) People still refer to Ms. Noem (often sarcastically) as “the Snow Queen,” after the state pageant she won when she was young….”

My concern is parents encouraging gender changing surgeries for their minor children (the tide is with me on this issue). I don’t care what adults do if they don’t harm others.
The problem with following the ride is we have historic examples where the tide was wrong and the science was correct.

I really doubt that any parent is pushing their child towards gender surgeries that are not needed. But these parents should be allowed to work with professional and make the best choices for their child and their family.

The data sports gender affirming care, which is much more than surgery.

I know what my daughter went through coming out a gay. Society sucks sometimes. No parent would want to put their children through that, if it wasn't in the best interest of the child.

I do not think he should be celebrated because he has likely fueled bigoted and hate filled rhetoric.

And even if he has not we should simply not give one solitary shit because if he wants to play with his own fake tits then play away. I think we should pause, say “hmmm”, shrug our shoulders, and move on.
On an individual level i understand your point. At a more general level we should let people be different and society shouldn't be judgemental towards everyone that is a little different.

Agree. That is why I think we should give it seemingly no mind. Do what you do as long as it has no deleterious effect upon your neighbor.

He's married to a woman who has repeatedly said she believes in "traditional family values" and is a member of the Religious Right, and who was a leader and cabinet member in a party that is actively oppressing LGBTQ people and people who dress in drag across the country. Tennessee passed a state law just three years ago forbidding men in drag from basically appearing in shows in public. And yet here her hubby is dressing in drag. The hypocrisy never ends with these people, the double standards never end with these people, the projection never ends with these people, and yes they need to be called out on it whenever it happens.

Yet now she's asking for "privacy" for her family - privacy that her fellow Republicans have rarely granted to anyone they don't like or agree with. So that's just more double standard bullshit. And that's without even getting into her extramarital affair with Lewandowski. For people who claim to believe in simple traditional family values they certainly don't seem to practice what they preach - although they have no problems trying to enforce their beliefs on everyone else, whether they privately practice or believe in them or not. It's almost like their very simplistic and unrealistic views of family life don't match the complexity and complications that often happen to couples and families in real life.
Trying to remember which anti LBGTQ group it was where the leader was caught having threesoms with her husband and another woman.

Moms for liberty, I believe.

The numbers tell a story that maga leadership doesn't want out there.
