I am a home theater enthusiast from a lifelong love of film. I financed an Epson 5050 projector for like 3 years from Warren Buffets lovely Nebraska Furniture Mart to the tune of like $3500.
Well, after less than 4 years of use, the projector started displaying a pink spot accented by a green modern art thing.

Epson told me I could send it to an authorized repair center but that was a couple hundred dollars to ship and then potentially have to spend anywhere from a grand to 1500 to fix it. I did a little due diligence online and some tech nerds felt that it was a burned out polarizer that cost about $20 on the Internet but you have to have expertise in dealing with the optical block of the projector to repair it.
So, I tried to sell the projector on eBay for a lowly $500 and got zero bids. I now don’t know what to do. Any thoughts? It’s hard for me to accept that I spent so much money on something that apparently is now worthless. It just doesn’t make sense.
C’est la vie, I suppose.
