Lost my cool with a member of Congress yesterday

That's wild! Steve's nephew was one of my best friends from from elementary school through highschool. Haven't seen my friend in a few years but his wife was (and may still be) mayor of Hillsborough. Also, my daughter in law's grandfather was briefly a NC state senator and worked for Steve years ago.

Mark Bell is currently Hillsborough’s mayor.

Jenn Weaver was mayor before Bell. She’s married to a David Neal.

I always thought my story about Steve Neal and Jim Flow was just funny. Steve was never a consequential congressman; and, Flow never asked for ANYTHING. A vote. An insertion into a bill. A job for a doltish nephew.

Flow NEVER ASKED anything other than to appear important. Cost him $50K a year.

Cliff Benson of Carolina Builders definitely DEMANDED quid pro quo for his bundles. Benson and others were the money behind the Hunt Machine.

Jim Hunt was North Carolina’s version of the Clinton and Obama Campaigns. No building the Democratic Party. Advance The Man.

Jim Hunt did some good stuff , Education funding and then Smart Start
And he did some dumb patronage stuff-dumb from a political legacy stand point
I trust your judgement on building the Party
