Not that anyone asked, but the fact that there's a whole subculture of hardcore famous right wing talking heads that I only know exist from comedic content creators stitching them in their videos --- is a reason a conman is the president.

It isn't. I tried to give it a chance and get through an episode of Gutfeld, and I couldn't. Gutfeld himself is a washed-up stand up comic, who, when he heard how much he could make performing right wing comedy to a right-wing audience, is probably why he landed at Fox News.
Yep. Given the relative dearth of openly right-wing comedians, there's much less competition for a comic than the general comedy circuit (and the same is true for "Christian Comedy", which is also right-wing). Gutfeld has been working in right-wing politics long enough that he knows exactly what plays with his audience, and he's said a good number of offensive things on his show about minorities, women, etc. I always enjoy listening to MAGAs brag about Gutfeld's great ratings compared to The Tonight Show or Colbert, but what they never admit is that it's comparing apples and oranges, as Gutfeld airs at 10 PM and not 11:30 like his competition, and he inherits a built-in audience from the previous Fox primetime lineup. It's not too hard to be the "King of Right Wing Comedy" when you've got very little competition.

More opportunity and less talent?

Might be different when the old slurs comeback. The audiences will know know when to laugh without having to figure out the joke.
