We are?Oh I forgot, we’re supposed to like Todd Golden
Me too. Spent most of that game playing basketball in the classrooms under the stands at Reynolds Coliseum.St John’s beat d00k in 1979.
I watched that one.
Love to see a repeat
One of my best friends runs several pools each tourney.Vanderbilt just jacked up my bracket.
Damn fraudsters.
And Vandy really has a player named Chandler Bing????![]()
We lost that same day.Me too. Spent most of that game playing basketball in the classrooms under the stands at Reynolds Coliseum.
Black Friday I believe…We lost that same day.
I did the ESPN Eliminator this year. One of my best friends runs several pools each tourney.
One pool goes like this - you can only pick a team once; once you’ve used a team, they’re off the board for you.
Like me, he grew up in Chapel Hill and went to UNC. He’s a diehard Tar Heel. Kenan-Flagler alum
One year (either the Lehigh or Mercer year), he chose d00k to win in the first round. Lehigh/Mercer won. As he said loudly, “The one time I pick d00k to win, they fucking lose.”

I’ll be honest I didn’t watch either of those games so I can’t comment on the officiating quality, but in general I agree that complaining about FT attempt discrepancy is one of the lowest forms of basketball discussion.BTW I dont expect Duke-love here, but the commentators loved to talk about how we shot so many more FTs than TCU. But I havent heard a damn thing from these talking heads (and Jamal Mashburn) about Arizona shooting 28 more free throws than Utah State....
(we only had 5 less fouls - Arizona had 11 less) - but anyhow that is an INSANE FT differential that more than covered the difference of the game

I agree. I remember back when Rick Barnes was at Clemson and the fans would get so upset when Tom Wideman, Harold Jamison, Iker Iturbe, etc. would get called for so many fouls. If I remember, there was one game against Carolina where Clemson had to end the game with four players. It's because those guys played like linebackers. I saw a lot of that from TCU Saturday. Did not watch Utah State but would not surprise me at all if it was the same thing.I’ll be honest I didn’t watch either of those games so I can’t comment on the officiating quality, but in general I agree that complaining about FT attempt discrepancy is one of the lowest forms of basketball discussion.
Teams like Duke and Arizona are significantly more talented and athletic than teams like TCU and Utah State. It makes sense that the underdogs will struggle significantly to defend the better team compared to the other way around and are more prone to fouling trying to keep up.
FT attempts are like +/- numbers in a box score. They’re imperfect stats that don’t tell the whole tale… but we all know there’s something there.BTW I dont expect Duke-love here, but the commentators loved to talk about how we shot so many more FTs than TCU. I am no expert-but the women's officiting was likely worseFeels like it was a generally poor officiating weekend
A bunch of calls late in SJU-Kansas that were all wrong favoring Kansas
Refs missing goaltends, traveling, out of bounds calls left and right
Calling a timeout after Florida was out of them to check the clock for like 5 minutes...Feels like it was a generally poor officiating weekend

Creighton coach Greg McDermott is retiring after this season, the school announced.
McDermott's retirement will end a gilded run at Creighton, as McDermott won 365 games in 16 years there. He has a career record of 514-319 over 25 Division I seasons, including the 2023 Elite Eight and 13 overall NCAA tournaments while the head coach at Northern Iowa, Iowa State and Creighton.
"It has been an incredible honor to lead the Creighton men's basketball program for the past 16 years," said McDermott in a statement. "I'm very proud of the young men that have proudly worn the Bluejay uniform and represented our program in a first-class manner. Witnessing their growth and development on and off the playing floor was especially gratifying."
That horrific backcourt call against the Johnnies cost them 2 points down the stretch of a game decided by 2 points. Refs need to answer for their calls in a press conference after every game, just like the teams do.
