March Madness - Wolverines new champs

Yes, posted before I read the next post. 😁

I was just surprised by a list of SEC schools based on academics that didn't start with Vandy.:cool::cool:
You're right of course. Had a brain fart. I was wracking my pea-sized brain trying to find a couple of SEC schools which could remotely be termed "academic" and passed right over the only true one that fits the mold.

The early money line on the game is heavily in Michigan's favor. Spread is 6.5 to 7.5 points for Wolverines. That's a pretty large spread for a final I guess. But apparently UCONN beats the spread 18-1... I just don't think they beat this spread AND win the game.
Honestly I think Michigan covers... and UCONN goes to 18-2

That was a fun game for those of us rooting for UCLA. Their core of seniors was locked in. Everyone played well.

Feels like USCjr had an emotional letdown game after knocking off UConn. They looked flat from the tip.

I wonder how today’s media (and fanbase and donors) would react to Dean Smith?

Today’s media would HATE Coach Smith.

What about yesteryear’s players in todays media? The cover of Sports Illustrated?

Division III Men's National Champion the Eagles of The University of Mary Washington in Fredericksburg, VA. They were 30-3 and play in the Coast to Coast Athletic Conference (Frankly I don't know how they pull it off with teams in North Carolina, Virginia, Maryland, and California)

Mary Washington's Schedule: 2025-26 Men's Basketball Schedule - University of Mary Washington

I've visited the campus and have a good friend that teaches there. It is high level academically and fields a full range of sports teams: University of Mary Washington - Official Athletics Website

That D3 game was who could choke the most and then the end came through amazingly. UMW blew 8 and 10 digit leads. Emory blew an 8 digit second half lead (after which UMW took control and came back to get their 10 point lead before blowing that)

So does ChatGPT.

It ranked Vanderbilt, Florida, and UT at Austin as the top 3.
My "issue" is that their core ole school SEC Universities just suck Bama has really improved-they are now ranked 189 or some such lol And they are that way because they just don't care to fund education
