Lol, i guarantee that my housekeeper from Venezuela doesn't have legal status. I'm nearly certain that none of the landscaping crew doing my yard does either. I'm also having new windows installed. I'd wager that when that crew shows up there won't be many US citizens or legal immigrants doing that. The house across the street is getting anew roof today. They started today and are almost finished. I bet there isn't a legal immigrant among them. The work is being done fast, well, and cleanly.

We've been using the same local landscaping company for several years now. Initially, the crews were exclusively white dudes. I guess at some point the owner determined the business wasn't profitable enough and changed his hiring strategy. The landscaping crews are 100% Hispanic now. Could they all be documented? It's possible I suppose but highly unlikely.
I was a carpenter in the Triangle from 1974 to 2018. My experiences are not his. However my memories are not up to date and , even if they were, I wouldn't presume to speak for another town. I certainly wouldn't for a different geographical region. Stats seem good to me.
