It seems really bizarre for someone who wants to kill "illegals" to snipe an ICE facility. Surely there are easier ways.

I wonder if it was a targeted attack. Some % of the people in ICE custody really are in drug cartels.

One wonders whether ICE detention is the new place to take refuge from drug gangs. Now that DOJ isn't paroling anyone, maybe people think they are better off there than taking on cartel assassin.

Note: this is little more than idle speculation and I haven't thought through it at all. Just something that popped into mind.

Cartel hitmen usually aren’t white or suicidal.

ICE's track record includes detaining documented immigrants *and* citizens.

People willing to do this give zero fucks if a brown person is documented or not. Brown is the only important thing.
