2. Definitely.
3. No one really knows the rate of CTE for high school because so few cases are autopsied. Most kids who commit suicide don't get their brains sent to Boston U.
4. I'd go with No. 2. He was mentally ill, and that mental illness caused him to go down the CTE rabbit hole.

It being constitutional right is debatable. It is right now because the supreme Court says it is but who knows what happens in the future.

What isn't debatable is that we are currently able to regulate based on type. We highly regulate automatic weapons. Whose to say that we can't extend similar regulations to semi-auto. Well the Supreme Court could say it but they haven't said it yet.

This isn't really accurate. It's NRA cherry picking of a few laws that has kind of stuck as propaganda. The Nazis loosened gun restrictions put in place by the Weimar Republic making it easier to get guns, as long as you weren't Jewish or gay or communist. Civilians had plenty of guns in Nazi Germany.

Fascist Italy did not restrict gun ownership for the most part but did require registration. There were very few restrictions on who could buy or own guns even through WW2 and into the 1950s.

Spain was really the only Fascist country that enacted fairly strict gun control for civilians but they did allow guns for hunting.

Says two Trump judges against one Bush judge. Let's see if the en banc court reaches a different result. It's impossible to read the dissenting opinion and not find it persuasive . . . even though it was written by a POS who I loathe, the guy who co-authored the infamous torture memos.

I guess anything is possible. But that is highly unlikely anytime soon so it does no good to argue hypotheticals. The issue should be debated based on a set of real or most likely parameters. Arguing pie in the sky variables is a waste of time and just further kicks the can down the road.

I don't think its impossible. The trend around the world is more gun regulations and not less as citizens see the costs of permissive gun policies. Admittedly, the US is going the other way, but there is definitely strong support for more gun regulations in the US, especially regionally. Calling tighter gun regulations pie in the sky tends to shut down debate on an issue that is far from settled.

extremely upsetting, my community has very little crime let alone gun violence.
 
I still have my avalon pier beer card I bought 6 years ago with 4 of 6 pre purchased beers avaliable. They said it never expired so I'm gonna hold them to that next time I go back!

ETA - Actually, here is a local new story

My grandparents had a cottage about a half mile from there - I have been to the outer banks every year since I was born except two (the summer I took the CA Bar exam and the first year of Covid). That is certianly upsetting.

it is definitely real, unfortunately. sounds like 1 dead and 1 critically injured. local on local crime, teenagers. really, really upsetting.

the lack of any official statement from KDHPD or the dare county sheriff's department or the state or SOMEONE is getting a bit absurd at this point.
