Simple math is 3/32=.09. So 9% of those school shootings were committed by transgender shooters. Transgender people make up 0.8% of the population. That is statistically significant.

1. Almost all school shooters are young. 5% of people under 30 identify as trans or nonbinary — About 5% of young adults in the U.S. say their gender is different from their sex assigned at birth
2. That said, I do think the number of trans/nonbinary school shooters recently is significant, whether statistically or not. A reasonable debate could be had about why that is. Trans people are more likely to suffer from mental illnesses that could manifest in violent tendencies (and no, transgenderism itself does not fit that category for multiple reasons). Trans people are also immensely more likely to be bullied, marginalized, and physically and emotionally harmed. There is never an excuse for violence, but one thing all of us could do to help is make sure we’re giving trans people the respect and support they deserve.

Yeah, that’s what I was trying to say. I don’t love the phrase “hurt people hurt people,” but it is often true.
I agree on both counts. I'm not trying to come after transgender people. But if you (not you, but the person in the tweet posted above) are going to bring out numbers to argue with someone you better be sure that you fully understand what those numbers mean.

Fair, but the fact Gorka did not respond with your observation, but instead a blanket, inaccurate attack on transgenderism writ large, seems to me to be the most important part of that exchange.

Yeah, I actually considered not including that part of the article for that reason but had a similar reaction ring and run has been a stupid adolescent game for my lifetime, don’t want to project back into prior history, but decades before social media. But part of the coverage of this story seems to be the TikTok angle.
The only angle should be that some person shot an 11-year-old kid IN THE BACK AS HE RAN AWAY for the terrifying crime of ringing the doorbell at night … and said shooter was released after questioning and (TBD) may not be charged with anything.

Far too many take this over the top permeant action against something that a deep breath and a minute to cool down would remedy.
I hope this fucker get's the death penalty. And they should do it the same way, have him ring a door bell and someone open the door and blow his fucking head off. Give him time to think about how stupid his actions were right up until the door opens. Then his last few seconds he can experience what he put that child through. What a fucked up world we live in.
