The Times of India is not gold standard journalism, but my sense of it is that it's far enough removed from US politics to do a decent job here of recapping what is known with out overtly putting it's thumb on the scale too much in either direction. But, yes you can get some "people are tweeting" type journalism in place of "two verified sources", but if you know that going in it can still be informative.

Back when Reagan was President and there was lots of talk about an anti-ballistic missile system, there was a wonderful article in "The New Yorker" about the US's attempt to install radar-controlled machine guns on its bombers during the latter stages of WW2. The key problem the US never solved was that bombers flew in tightly packed bunches and were large and slow. But the fighters that arose to attack them zipped in and out the formation and were small and fast. So, every attempt to automate the radar-controlled machine guns resulted in about 100 friendly bombers getting shot-up for every enemy fighter that got hit. The conclusion the article reached was that any anti-ballistic missile system could be easily defeated by flooding the sky with cheap decoys or debris. In every simulation, the actual ballistic missiles always got through, and the anti-ballistic missiles just shot down drones. Same thing here, any attack on an ICE detention facility is just going to kill detainees and leave the guards unharmed because there are probably about 100 detainees for every guard. Math really needs to be a higher priority in public education.
