The two people killed both had the last name of Locklear. I typically associate the name Locklear with folks associated with the Lumbee Tribe. But I have no idea whether or not this incident has anything to do with the Lumbees.
Locklears and in Maxton, that's nearly a 100% lock for Lumbees.

There was an article in the Atlantic recently that said left-wing political violence had surpassed right-wing political violence for the first time in 30 years.

Based on a couple of recent events, it seems pretty clear that the right wingers are having none of that.

I was there with my two daughters about 50 yards away. This happened mere feet away from the line of kids to visit Santa Claus. Hundreds if not over a thousand kids in the vicinity. Our country’s obsession with guns is infuriating.
That is terrible for you

Really sorry to hear. Glad to hear everyone is ok in the physical sense. Hopefully your daughters are ok mentally and all that. What a nightmare.

Dude, I’m sorry. Are you and your daughters ok?
Yes we were fortunate to get moving really quickly, stay on the edge of the wave of people fleeing, get to our vehicle before almost everyone and leave before the traffic and shut down roads would’ve created an additional hurdle. I’ve seen lots of social media posts where others were hiding in place in various stores, restaurants, and closets with people crying around them which would have been much more traumatic. We were essentially out of there within 4-5 minutes. My girls handled it really well.
