He killed three people, stole two cars and was detained after being tased? Oh, yeah. He’s definitely white.
Such a tired and inaccurate straw man. I guess the black men taken alive after mass shootings, or after shooting and murdering police officers, don’t matter. I also guess some people want police officers to shoot surrendering white people and ignore black people who are shooting at them.

It is sad when ever anyone is killed. It's even worse how society enables this and our leaders are too focused on keeping us at odds than solving the issue.

Our country needs to stop letting the NRA write gun laws. We need a national database and study of gun related violence.

Everyone may not agree with this, but I believe we need to stop talking about banning guns. Otherwise we are never going to get the hunters and gun aficionados that do not misuse their guns on board to help solve the issues.

You have a point here, though your second sentence is the same in the other direction, but I assume that is hyperbola.

We all have to remember that the news is there to keep us watching so they can make money, modern reporting sucks as it does tend to support the stereotypes.

This should be a topic that everyone could come together on and work on actual resolution. But our leaders do not lead, they want to keep us arguing so that they can support their projects and get rich.

The fact that the NRA managed to basically write legislation that keeps our country in the 1800's in utilizing technology to study gun violence, is appalling.

And we wonder why this keeps happening:

The Tiahrt Amendments, attached to Department of Justice appropriations bills, restrict the Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco, Firearms and Explosives (ATF) from releasing firearms trace data, including preventing them from creating a searchable database, according to Giffords. These amendments also require the FBI to destroy background check records within 24 hours and prohibit the ATF from requiring gun dealers to submit inventory data, according to Giffords.

Key aspects of the Tiahrt Amendments:
  • Limiting access to firearm trace data:
The ATF is prohibited from releasing firearm trace data to cities, states, researchers, or the public except for limited purposes.

  • FBI background check records:
The FBI is required to destroy firearm purchase background check records within 24 hours.

  • Prohibiting inventory submissions:
The ATF cannot require gun dealers to submit their inventory data to law enforcement.

  • Impact on gun violence research:
These restrictions hinder the ability to track gun violence trends, trace weapons used in crimes, and identify patterns that could help prevent future incidents.

  • "Tiahrt" is named after its sponsor,
    U.S. Representative Todd Tiahrt (R-KS).

  • The 2004 Tiahrt Amendments are part of larger appropriations bills,
impacting the release of firearms trace data, and requiring the FBI to destroy background check records.
In essence, the Tiahrt Amendments create significant barriers to gun violence research by limiting access to crucial data and restricting the ability to track firearms and their movement.

The "Leaders" that push this bullshit through congress and into law do not care about the Country or the people, they only care about the donors who can give them the most money.

Killing one's own daughter - and then shooting her cat because according to him, no one was going to care for it after the daughter was gone - to "save" her from being made fun of was not on my proverbial bingo card.

Fucking horrific :(
