Someday a mayor in a press conference like this will have the balls to verbally place blame squarely on the NRA, trump, republican legislators, and the Supreme Court.

I thought this guy might approach something like that… but not quite.
Not sure I would do it the day it happened but definitely think an elected official should say it over and over again the days afterwards.

“… Police say the shooting happened just before 1:30 p.m. near the intersection of 29th Street East and Clinton Avenue, directly behind Cristo Rey Jesuit High School in the city’s Phillips neighborhood.

“I look down the street and I see somebody standing outside their car, with a big gun just shooting at the crowd,” the witness said. In the video, the sounds of gunfire can clearly be heard, with people fleeing the scene.

… Near the intersection, law enforcement found a man dead from apparent gunshot wounds and another man with potentially life-threatening gunshot wounds.

About one or two blocks away from the shooting, on Lake Street, four injured men and one injured woman were found at various locations. Those five people were brought to the hospital and are expected to survive, according to Minneapolis police.

… Initial reports indicate a suspect stepped out of a vehicle and fired about 30 rounds from a “high-velocity” .223 caliber rifle at a group of people on a sidewalk along Clinton Avenue before getting into a car and fleeing the scene.

Of the seven people who were shot, at least one person was “clearly targeted,” O’Hara said.

O’Hara shared how powerful the firepower was and its impact.

“From the Shotspotter notification, we do not believe this to have been fully automatic, but this was a high velocity .223 rifle, and it’s obvious from the injuries that people suffered here, the significant damage those types of rounds can do to the human body,” O’Hara said. …”

It is times like this that reminds me of one of my favorite movies, "Little Murders", which was directed in 1971 by Alan Arkin and starring Elliot Gould. It was a dark comedy critique of violence in America.

The Elliot Gould character ( Alfred ) is a photographer who casually takes pictures of the mayhem in NYC and considers himself a radical apathist.

Alfred's apathism is his defense mechanism against a city that has gone mad. In the urban nightmare of the film, defined by random sniper fire, muggings, and obscene phone calls, his indifference is a way to survive the constant sensory and emotional overload. He accepts the inevitability of the violence and sees no point in fighting back, believing it is a waste of energy.

I fear that our country has accepted Alfred's nihilistic view and is accepting the inevitability of violence in America and the violence perpetrated by the Trump regime.

Sharinhg this here, a response to Trump's "thoughts and prayers" post. ENJOY!

"Praying for all affected in the shooting and praying that God opens the eyes of the ignorant who are causing division in our nation. Forgive them Father for they do not know that President Trump is your David of today and he was anointed and appointed by God to unite our nation. I pray that all those affected feel comforted under the Lord's embrace and can peacefully get through this ordeal. In Jesus name I pray, amen.
❤️🙏❤️"

Using this as an excuse to report Jim Jeffries' brilliant gun control bit from a few years ago:

Love Jim Jeffries and looking forward to watching his latest comedy show on Netflix

This bit is the best ever in pointing out the absurdity of our country's rationale for not joining the rest of the first world countries in implementing gun laws that will protect America from gun carnage.

WARNING

‼️

I am going to share some stuff below allegedly by the MN shooter. Nothing directly depicting violence but it may be very upsetting to some nonetheless.

They were shot while praying to God ? Do you know how many people are praying everyday for God to spare them from famine, torture , genocide, and war ? And that's not even counting what prayers God might be getting throughout the infinite universe !

Those poor kids were in line for God's grace. Unfortunately the line was so long that God couldn't get to them in time.

Minneapolis Catholic school gunman ID’d as Robin Westman— while possible manifesto shows psychotic obsession with mass shooters

“… Police are investigating whether a series of sick YouTube videos shared on an account hours before the shooting was connected to Westman, law enforcement sources told The Post…”

NYPost says one of the mags says “kill Donald Trump” (though as fast as I can tell that has not been included with the photos).
