Jeff Bezos' ex gifted Robeson Community College $24 mil this week, raising its endowment by a factor of 6. Interestingly, I was told by someone who would know that there are no stipulations on how the money has to be spent. Also, I was told that you don't make requests of her foundation but they find you. Hoping they find UNCP too. Between that and Lumbee Recognition, which is poised to happen, feeling bullish about a county that has not been able to gets its footing for a myriad of reasons.

I hope so. That area has been in decline for so long. But I think the odds of no strings attached money all going to people that deserve is relatively low in Robeson county.

I understand your skepticism. But RCC has good president and board. She has already hinted that it might be used to relieve every student of having to pay tuition.

It's great to hear that she donated. You don't need inside info to know there are no stipulations. ALL of her donations work that way.

That’s great news, hope they use it wisely. The fact that she donated speaks well of the institution and its people already.
