Honestly, this was likely her destiny all along, like Luke Skywalker becoming a Jedi. Being a talking head on a right-wing network is a lucrative gig if you can get it. I wouldn't be surprised if Mark Robinson ends up on OAN or some lower-tier right-wing network either.
Do not compare Kari Lake to Luke Skywalker, please.

A better analogy would be "this was likely her destiny all along, like Jar Jar Binks stepping in poop."

And this is very likely why legacy news outlets like the NY Times and WaPo and MSNBC are now bending over backwards to please Trump and his minions. They know their status and influence and power are slipping in society as a whole and they are likely terrified that it will finally reach DC and the Beltway and they'll be replaced from their positions of status and power, such as getting the front row of WH Press Conferences as they have traditionally done. Never mind their obligation to fairly inform the people, what matters is their social status in DC and elsewhere.
Fuck 'em. They did nothing to prevent the Trumpification of America from happening. I'm nervous about the populist direction the Democratic Party seems to be heading, but I have no concerns whatsoever about ditching the pretentiousness and ineffectiveness of the legacy media. I don't judge them on partisanship, but I do judge them on how well America is informed. And on that standard, the legacy media gets an F minus.

I’m not so sure it’s fair to place all blame on the media here.

There are tons of polls and studies showing that people who get their news from legacy media sources are better informed than those who rely on podcasts, “influencers,” or other non-traditional sources.

It’s difficult to inform those who don’t want to be informed.

If they actually acted like they had a pair, they might have enough fire in what they say to get noticed on social media. Most people aren't ordering vanilla yogurt for dessert.

I'm not sure podcasts and influencers should be looked at as equals.

There are some really good podcast that are much more informative than traditional news.

Influencers... I've not seen one that I would want to see again.

The Russian interference is FINALLY being called out

I wonder if they did anything similar here
Even for skeptics, there is a growing amount of smoke around the claim that Russia is interfering on a massive scale in democracies around the world to destabilize and undermine them and put their preferred candidates into power in as many countries as possible. And their strategy seems to be working in many places - not so much in stealing elections, but in using social media troll farms and hackers to undermine candidates they don't like and build up others that they do, and influence media organizations, podcasts, influencers, and politicians in various countries to do Putin's bidding in those countries. Putin's social media troll farms have done more to destabilize Western democracies than the old KGB ever did, imo. And China has been doing the same around the world as well.

“ABC News has agreed to pay $15 million toward Donald Trump’s presidential library to settle a defamation lawsuit over anchor George Stephanopoulos’ inaccurate on-air assertion that the president-elect had been found civilly liable for raping writer E. Jean Carroll.

As part of the settlement made public Saturday, ABC News posted an editor’s note to its website expressing regret over Stephanopoulos’ statements during a March 10 segment on his “This Week” program. The network will also pay $1 million in legal fees to the law firm of Trump’s attorney, Alejandro Brito.

The settlement agreement describes ABC’s presidential library payment as a “charitable contribution,” with the money earmarked for a non-profit organization that is being established in connection with the yet-to-be built library.

“We are pleased that the parties have reached an agreement to dismiss the lawsuit on the terms in the court filing,” ABC News spokesperson Jeannie Kedas said.

…Trump sued ABC and Stephanopoulos in federal court in Miami days after the network aired the segment, in which the longtime “Good Morning America” anchor and “This Week” host repeatedly misstated the verdicts in Carroll’s two civil lawsuits against Trump.

During a live “This Week” interview with Rep. Nancy Mace, R-S.C., Stephanopoulos wrongly claimed that Trump had been “found liable for rape” and “defaming the victim of that rape.”

Neither verdict involved a finding of rape as defined under New York law.

In the first of the lawsuits to go to trial, Trump was found liable last year of sexually assaulting and defaming Carroll. A jury ordered him to pay her $5 million. …”

In other words, as long as all of the news media does what we want and behaves like Fox we'll leave them alone, but if they criticize us or even just point out our mistakes and controversial actions too much we'll use the full power of the government against them. And I'm sure they've all gotten that message clearly - Jeff Bezos certainly has seemed to.

The so-called "librul mainstream media" - or as Rammy has been trained by his Steve Bannon podcast to say, the "legacy media" - has done more to help the widespread normalization and acceptance of Trump and Trumpism than any of the Trumpers or the bosiders here will ever admit.

It's shameful and sad and is an indicator that our democracy is in real trouble. :(
