+1. According to one of Boelter's closest friends whom he often stayed with, he's a proud Trumper and conservative. He was a registered Republican in MN for years in the early 2000s. He's now been shown on video preaching anti-LGBTQ hatred at fundamentalist churches in the Congo, and there are numerous sources now showing that he was an anti-abortion fanatic with a hit list of dozens of pro-choice Democratic pols and organizations like Planned Parenthood. The guy is clearly MAGA through and through, and only those completely blinded by the Cult of Trump can't (or won't) see it.

Yeah and I’m sure being confronted and fired upon by what appeared to be a fellow officer isn’t something they prepare for. I’d imagine trying to verify with dispatch whether or not other LEOs were present and/or coming in as backup was a high priority. Understandably, IMO. Pursuing who they thought was an officer with others en route could lead to a lot of potential for friendly fire casualties.
