NC shrimping ban

When my brother lived in Oriental for a while he had a "baby" shrimp boat. The shrimping mechanisms were hand powered-not motorized-thus no shrimping liscense required
Would go out for an hour and get a lb or so to have with evening beer . Anyway being the way he is he studied up on shrimping quite a bit-and shared with me how it just tears the whole Pamlico/creeks up............

Pubs don't care about anything but what will get them votes.
Honestly feels more like an East versus the rest of the state thing. Here is Phil Berger expressing disappointment that the bill went down. Really not sure the mechanism because it would seem like he'd be powerful enough to push it through but apparently doesn't have quite as much control over the Republican caucus as I would have thought.

Can you bullet it? Would be interested.

Only thing I saw tear up the river worse that a a shrimp trawl was a clam dredge. I doubt they use them anymore and may have stopped a long time ago. That was in 1969 when I actually did enough clamming and net fishing in New River Inlet that I had a commercial fishing license.

Oh basically shrimp boats bounce chains off the sea/sound/creek bottom/ floor
Basically destroying everything while bouncing the shrimp up to be netted
Finesse knows more than me!
Not anymore. It's a whole different thing now. I half kept up until about 25 years ago and still have some friends on the water that know a little more but I just gave up. Had no reason to keep up.

Late 30's early 40's, in Frisco...her family's last name is Stark.

Thought it might be a long shot, but she really is one of my favorite people of all time, and thought it would be really awesome if you happened to know her. Owner of Home | Making Waves Tea
