And a world of difference in how Dems treat other people, especially those that are not like the rest of the country when it comes to race, sexual orientation, gender identity, and religion.
 
One thing republicans do well is get their acolytes to parrot the same talking points.

One of the most common talking points is, “You just believe whatever your left-wing media sources tell you to believe.” They say this over and over - every one of them - without a hint of irony.
 
Has anybody seen a tally on protesters doing bad things Sat vs MAGA doing bad things against the protesters?

An empty chair would be better than Trump. Whatever issues Biden had, at least he was surrounded by competent people in all positions of Gov that kept everything moving forward in a positive direction. Trump is actively wrecking every aspect of Government with completely unqualified fools in charge of every lever of government. So your efforts to deflect criticism of Trump by screaming “but look at Biden” rings hollow.

The man Utah police describe as an innocent bystander slain after gunfire broke out at a No Kings rally Saturday in Salt Lake City has been identified as Arthur Folasa Ah Loo, a contestant on Project Runway in 2019.

The shooter was identified by police as a “peacekeeper” who began firing when an attendee wearing a black mask at the rally pointed an AR-15-style rifle at the crowd. “Peacekeepers” apparently were recruited by rally organizers, though a spokesperson for the organizers has said that the “safety teams” were asked not to bring guns.

The man who allegedly pointed the AR-15-style rifle at the crowd has been identified as 24-year-old Arturo Gamboa, who was dressed in all black clothing and wearing a black mask.


The incident began shortly before 8 p.m. when Gamboa allegedly pulled out an AR-15-style rifle from a backpack and “begin manipulating it.” Two men described by police as “peacekeepers” saw Gamboa “move away from the crowd and move into a secluded area behind a wall – behavior they found suspicious.”

When the two men confronted Gamboa with their handguns drawn, Gamboa apparently raised his rifle into a firing position and ran toward the crowd, according to Salt Lake police.

“In response, one of the peacekeepers fired three rounds,” police said in a statement. One round struck Gamboa and another struck and killed Ah Loo. Gamboa was found “crouching among a group of people with a gunshot wound.”

It’s hard not to blame the actual shooter at least as much as Gamboa. A police officer has a duty to act and ostensibly the training to make justifiable assessments about the commission of a crime. Some volunteer pretend-cop has neither. I really don’t like the felony murder rule in situations like this.

This belongs in the FAFO thread to some extent.
- “He wouldn’t even hurt a fly,” Gamboa’s mother, Marianna Gamboa, said in her first interview since her son was arrested. “He’s got strong opinions, and he has a right to carry.”

- Friends says "They said Gamboa has taken his gun to protests in the past, never having an issue".

Utah is an open-carry state, so he has the right to carry a gun, but everyone else has the right to be suspicious as fuck and confused by him wielding a gun in public. I hope he becomes the poster boy for rotting in jail for openly carrying and getting someone else killed because of his decision.
