Video evidence: Gamboa's rifle was pointed downward when the "peace keepers" shot him. Looks like it won't embed, so you'll have to click or right-click to view.
""

So they shot AT a guy for simply openly carrying his gun, killing an innocent bystander.

Everyone from Utah and other open-carry states are confused at the shakedown. "What's the problem, man, what's wrong with carrying loaded pistols, hidden or otherwise".

"Utah is a constitutional carry state, which means that adults 21 and older who are legally allowed to possess a firearm can carry it openly or concealed without a permit, including in public spaces"

Was this Krebs guy planning on killing protesters or police? My guess is protesters but I'm not sure. Any word?

Woman shows up for her immigration hearing as she is supposed to and instead is arrested and will be deported.
Away from her husband and children.

As nycfan said (maybe on a different thread), what are we becoming?

It’s hard not to blame the actual shooter at least as much as Gamboa. A police officer has a duty to act and ostensibly the training to make justifiable assessments about the commission of a crime. Some volunteer pretend-cop has neither. I really don’t like the felony murder rule in situations like this.
We will see how far the “I was scared for my life,” defense goes when the dead guy is actually armed.

What are we becoming?

The same nation/culture that utilized slavery and Jim Crow, that tried to wipe out Indigenous peoples, that locked up many Japanese-Americans during WW2, that waged many years long wars in Vietnam, Iraq, and Afghanistan, that has waged a “War on Drugs” on its own people for 50+ years……..

We are who we are.

Uh-oh. Someone in the administration doesn’t like Trump’s immigration policies.

The good, the bad, and the ugly...

Laying down a marker here.

There is another "No Kings" protest scheduled for October 18. This includes a large gathering planned in DC. Prominent Republican politicians have started saying some pretty incendiary things in the lead-up. Anyone attending a rally on 10/18 should be vigilant for provocation by LEOs or counter-protestors.

Speaker of the House Mike Johnson has called it a "Hate America Rally" full of pro-Hamas people and Antifa.

House Majority Whip Tom Emmer has called it a "Hate America Rally" held by the "terrorist wing" of the Democratic Party.

A core principle behind all No Kings events is a commitment to nonviolent action. We expect all participants to seek to de-escalate any potential confrontation with those who disagree with our values and to act lawfully at these events. Weapons of any kind, including those legally permitted, should not be brought to events.

Edit to add - I just saw the other No Kings thread. Feel free to delete or merge this one.
