Laying down a marker here.

There is another "No Kings" protest scheduled for October 18. This includes a large gathering planned in DC. Prominent Republican politicians have started saying some pretty incendiary things in the lead-up. Anyone attending a rally on 10/18 should be vigilant for provocation by LEOs or counter-protestors.

Speaker of the House Mike Johnson has called it a "Hate America Rally" full of pro-Hamas people and Antifa.

House Majority Whip Tom Emmer has called it a "Hate America Rally" held by the "terrorist wing" of the Democratic Party.

A core principle behind all No Kings events is a commitment to nonviolent action. We expect all participants to seek to de-escalate any potential confrontation with those who disagree with our values and to act lawfully at these events. Weapons of any kind, including those legally permitted, should not be brought to events.

Edit to add - I just saw the other No Kings thread. Feel free to delete or merge this one.

This is disgusting, inflammatory rhetoric directed toward Americans demonstrating their Constitutional right to peaceful protest.

Lil' Mike and Emmer should be ashamed but you can't shame the shameless.

I wonder if it would be a good idea for protesters to start wearing shirts that say “Anti-Fascist” or some variation on this. “Proud Anti-Fascist” or the like.

Let us all be proud for being anti-fascist. Let’s see these assholes start arresting people because “they’re wearing antifa clothes!!!11!!!!”.

Why are Republicans even commenting on this? Seems odd to me that there is such a united front to talk crap about it.

The ones in Raleigh now are out Capital Blvd-like wtf
I may go to Clayton where it is at town square
