October 18 "No Kings" Protest

People who organize under the banner of antifa are mostly anarchists. It's the same crowd who brought us the Battle in Seattle WTO protests. They are not liberals.

I don't see why we would want to adopt their name. I would think it would be prudent to say, "Every reasonable person should be anti-fascist. Antifa is a different ideology. It is about fighting in the streets."

Incredibly shaky assertation there. That article merely states that left wing extremists tended to clash with right wing extremists. That goes without saying, I would think.

I've posted three links about Antifa engaging in violent action including the use of homemade explosives and firearms. The DHS under the Obama administration was concerned enough to classify their activities as domestic terrorist violence. Perhaps you should tell us once again how publicly aligning with such a group will win over moderate voters and convince people that Trump is wrong when he labels the Democrats the "party of violence". The assertion that the Democrats can black bloc their way to victory in 2026 is ludicrous.

Yeah, let’s win over the moderates!! That’s a winning strategy. It just keeps producing win after win after win!

Trump and right wing media have changed what happened on 1/6 for 10s of millions of people even though we all saw the same fucking thing. There’s a reason trump and his sycophants keep mentioning antifa and it’s not cause they’re out there causing mayhem. They’re not a threat to the “American” way of life.

They know they’re fucking fascists and they need everyone thinking that being against fascism makes you a terrorist.

I’m not concerned in the slightest about winning the “moderate, gun-loving racist” vote. They’re the problem. Not the solution.

Dems keep playing defense and running scared. They have to change or this country is doomed (if it’s not already).

Embracing political violence only plays into Trump’s hands. It is probably the most dangerous idea anyone can propose right now. Like, it is a horrifically bad idea. You think Trump is bad now? You have no idea.

Here you go: The Obama administration did not designate antifa as a domestic terror threat. Furthermore, there is no legal mechanism under U.S. federal law to designate a domestic group as a terrorist organization.

Not disagreeing with some that you have posted, but according to Dr Google, Obama did not classify them as a domestic terrorist group.

Someone should let trump in on this:
Federal law regarding terrorism
  • Under U.S. law, only foreign groups can be officially designated as terrorist organizations. The executive branch, through the State Department, has the authority to label groups operating overseas as "Foreign Terrorist Organizations".
  • While federal law contains a definition of "domestic terrorism," there is no federal crime of domestic terrorism. This means that though the FBI investigates acts that meet the definition of domestic terrorism, perpetrators are charged under other federal statutes, such as those concerning hate crimes or weapons violations.

Obama administration and domestic extremism
  • During his time in office, President Obama focused on countering all forms of violent extremism, and the FBI investigated extremist individuals based on their violent acts, not their ideology.
  • In September 2017, following the end of the Obama administration, a Politico report noted that federal authorities had been warning since early 2016 that extremist left-wing anti-fascist activists had become increasingly confrontational. However, the report did not indicate any formal designation of antifa as a terrorist group by the Obama administration.
