Yep. I believe in 2018 people in Florida voted overwhelmingly to give felons the right to vote once they had completed their prison sentence. But they also voted for Ron DeSantis and other Republicans who have fought voting rights for former felons since they took office. Totally contradictory, not that most Florida voters seem to care.Florida has a tradition of voting for Dem policies on the ballot while simultaneously voting for the politicians who oppose those policies.
But abortion and legal weed both failed in Florida, reportedly…soooo…wtf?Florida has a tradition of voting for Dem policies on the ballot while simultaneously voting for the politicians who oppose those policies.
Didn't they need 60% to pass? But abortion and legal weed both failed in Florida, reportedly…soooo…wtf?
They actually both won a majority - the abortion referendum by a large margin - but in Florida it needed 60% to pass. So the large majority didn't matter. But abortion and legal weed both failed in Florida, reportedly…soooo…wtf?
I wouldn’t say under 60% is a large majority. They actually both won a majority - the abortion referendum by a large margin - but in Florida it needed 60% to pass. So the large majority didn't matter.
They failed despite winning a majority of the vote. The last numbers I saw on abortion has 57% in favor, 43% against. But abortion and legal weed both failed in Florida, reportedly…soooo…wtf?
I guess that’s subjective. I consider a 14 point margin to be a large majority.I wouldn’t say under 60% is a large majority.
Yes.Didn't they need 60% to pass?
And? Bottom line, it failed. Floridians knew the threshold. 43% or better said fuck your rights. They failed despite winning a majority of the vote. The last numbers I saw on abortion has 57% in favor, 43% against.
On an issue as basic as a woman’s right to choose, it’s obviously not a large majorityI guess that’s subjective. I consider a 14 point margin to be a large majority.
BFDStein is our next governor.
Yep. And his economic policies will fuck them all over equally. FAFO I guess.Trump is building a working class coalition of people from all races.
Yeah, if Stein wins but Morrow and Bishop and some other GOPers win and he doesn't have veto power over the legislature it's still going to suck, although there's no doubt it's still far preferable to having Robinson as governor.BFD
NC has the WEAKEST governor in the US.
I guess I would defer to the actual people in those minority groups who are tilting more Republican than they have in the past. Ask them I guess.
Tons of blue area votes out still.Jeff Jackson and Dan Bishop basically tied. Same with Mo Greene and Morrow.
What the fuck is wrong with people?
Why do we have so many rules to let the loser win? They failed despite winning a majority of the vote. The last numbers I saw on abortion has 57% in favor, 43% against.
