feeling that anxiety spike grow to unsustainable levels. I may have to bail out.
I am going to bed soon myself. I will resign myself to Trump winning, hopefully it wont be as bad as we think, hopefully his voters are the ones that suffer the most, and most hopefully she actually holds the blue wall and we wake up relieved.

Why didn’t Biden/ Harris remove the Trump tariffs?
Many of them expired. The ones kept in place were specifically targeted to China and not huge.

Big difference from 10-20% across the board on all imports, with significantly higher tariffs (60% to 200%) on any country Trump gets angry at.

EDIT — PLEASE TAKE THE TARIFF DISCUSSION TO THE TARIFF THREAD. THANKS.

Well, we've kept hearing from Trumpers throughout the campaign - and on this very board - that things really "won't get that bad" if Trump is elected. I guess we're about to find out. And for the record, if he does win I think his second term is going to be a nightmare for everyone, and in the end even for most Trump voters, although they'll be loathe to admit it. We may have well reached the "fuck around and find out" stage of things.

Yeah my wife has ordered me to disengage. I am going to bed accepting that there is nothing I can do about it, though that doesn't help accepting it itself

but...

My genuine concern, beyond the mere collapse of my retirement fund (which I fully expect), is we'll be on the brink of a Russo-European war within a couple of years. A war I fully expect will involve tactical nukes, at a minimum.
My genuine concern is that it’s basically lights out for humanity as far as climate change is concerned. This is the critical window and we’re gonna miss it.

Surprising given vaunted GOP registration lead in votes cast in early voting …

So far tonight:

If you genuinely expect the market to collapse, just move to cash. There is no tax implication in a retirement account.

Nah, that was the last four years.
