I have never had what I would consider "discretionary" income. Every raise, every home sale, every windfall was spent on "needs" that existed before the "extra" money ever came into my possession. I have absolutely no idea what I would do if confronted by the danger of discretionary income. But based on other aspects of my personality, I think Britney Spears would appear to be the very model of financial discretion compared to how I would act if discretionary wealth suddenly fell into my lap.
 
She’s been posting increasingly erratic/concerning stuff on Instagram over the past several weeks. Hope she gets help, I know it’s got to be really hard on her kids.

But if we’re posting random Britney things, this mashup of Toxic and Change (in the house of flies) by Deftones is now basically the definitive version of both songs for me:

Yeah, saying the cinservatorship was not that bad of an idea in this case knowing what we know is akin to saying Belichick being hired at Carolina wasn't that bad of an idea. Something happening clearly was justified but the person tasked with the fix is just stealing everyone blind.

She was being really, really taken advantage of. That whole arrangement was unconscionable.

This is a DUI. I mean, people get DUIs.

Agree about the DUI part but I think the “she is off part” has to do with her months long habit of posting videos where she is dancing practically naked with knives and looking like she is on a 10 day meth binge.

 
Apparently the ex, Kevin Federline, wrote a tell all book that accused her of doing cocaine while breastfeeding, drinking while pregnant and standing in her sons' doorway with a knife while they were sleeping. Apparently, that's what sent her down the spiral.

Spears is estranged from her 2 sons but had been paying 20 grand a month per kid in child support but that stopped in 2024 when the youngest turned 18 so I guess Federline was probably broke.

I have no issues with that. She's a professional dancer, basically. Lots of world cultures perform dance with weapons. I'm no Britney fan at all, but that is not evidence that she's "off." Also, "practically naked"? That's a standard look.

Seems a strange take from a staunch advocate for mental health treatment.

It’s quite obvious that she’s been battling mental health and addiction issues for more than a decade. I’m not taking this stance based on a singular vid of her with a couple knives in a bikini. But given the vast array of other “problematic” things, this would seem y to add to a long list of circumstantial evidence.
