All of these pardons are ridiculous, but having read in some detail about what the Chrisleys did it's a joke that they're going to be pardoned before finishing their well-earned prison sentences. Both Todd & Julie are nothing but con artists who pretended on their reality show to have earned their money and lavish estate and lifestyle through good old-school hard work, when in reality they were deliberately scamming local Georgia banks out of tens of millions and conspiring to not pay income taxes for years and trying to fool the IRS. Their spoiled daughter has been crying to the media since poor Mommy and Daddy got arrested (she has told tearful stories about how hard prison life has been on them), and now I guess she's convinced Trump to actually pardon them. I had relatives who loved their show (I thought they were sleazy from the beginning) and I'll admit to feeling some satisfaction reading about their downfall.

Given Trump's love of celebrities, maybe he'll give them a nice spot in Trump 2.0 now that he's going to pardon them and clear their records. I'm sure they'll be back on the air with another reality show before long, unfortunately.

We've entered a world in which proven and convicted crooks are allowed to portray themselves as the victims and heroes, while the law enforcement people dutifully doing their jobs and enforcing the law are portrayed as the villains, liars, and cheats. And all from Trumpers who claim to be big supporters of the police and prosecutors and all that. Which is bullshit, of course, or they wouldn't have voted for a convicted felon for POTUS. He's not tricked. He likes the opportunity to troll with these intentionally peppered in cover stories. maga doesn't believe these are evidence of "big tent" maga; they know the "whatabout" card will piss off some non-maga, particularly when it's focused on the minority populations maga love to punch down upon.
