This is a man who said he had created a fund to help rescue pets, and took the money for himself. He said he was raising money to pay for surgery for a rescue dog for a disabled Navy veteran, and spent the $3,000 he raised on himself. The guy is nothing - and will never be anything - but a lifelong con man. I fully expect him to return to bilking vulnerable or gullible people out of their money as soon as he's able, along with TLC or some other cable channel hiring him to do his own "reality" show.

I seriously doubt we've heard the last of George Santos, the descendant of Jewish Holocaust survivors (not), star volleyball player at Baruch College (not true on either count), earner of a MBA at NYU (not), Broadway musical producer of Spider-Man: Turn Off the Dark (not), brilliant Wall Street investor and financier at Citigroup and Goldman-Sachs (not), and survivor of the 2016 Pulse Nightclub mass shooting in Florida (not). I have little doubt that at some point we'll hear about him either being arrested or at least accused of some illegal scheme to drain his victims of their savings and hard-earned cash.

This is a lie, by the way. Biden commuted a bunch of federal death sentences to life in prison (with no parole in the federal system). He did not pardon those criminals.
Did Santos get a pardon or a commutation? Not that it matters because obviously the comparison is idiotic and I'm so fucking tired of "But Biden."

Again, whataboutism is the favorite tactic of spouse-beaters and rapists. No surprise here.

I think he got a commutation, but it was of the remainder of his sentence. So he’s still a felon but he won’t serve any more time. The guys Biden commuted will still spend the rest of their lives in prison. They just won’t be executed.

Sounds like a prospective employee for The Trump Organization, Inc.

Mike Johnson is intelligent enough to know what BS he's spouting.

I wonder what it's like to live his life and to know internally that you're nothing more than a spineless slug who metaphorically prostitutes yourself for a dumbass like Donald Trump?
He’s Speaker of the House.

He’s likely eying a White House run in 2028 or primarying Bill Cassidy in 2026 if Trump endorses the Senate run; Bill Cassidy voted to impeach Trump after January 6.

“… As part of his plea deal, Santos agreed to pay nearly $600,000 in restitution and forfeiture.

Asked on CNN's "State of the Union" if he planned to pay back donors, Santos said he would "do my best to do whatever the law requires of me."

According to the clemency grant, a photo of which was posted on X by U.S. Pardon Attorney Ed Martin, Trump granted Santos an "immediate commutation of his entire sentence to time served with no further fines, restitution, probation, supervised release, or other conditions."…”

I would favor a constitutional amendment to remove the pardon power from Presidents.

Sovereign immunity remains worse.
When you can create a private army that cannot be prosecuted for crimes, that is probably worse. Who is going to try to prosecute you if they know they will be murdered the next day and the murderer will immediately be pardoned.

Likewise, who is going to files articles of impeachment or vote to convict?
