This article sums up my thinking very well. What we need right now are fighters, not negotiators and compromisers. Because they aren't open to compromise - the GOP attitude towards liberals is to not only beat them, but to rub their noses in the dirt while laughing at and taunting them, and to not give them anything in the way of compromise.

The American people hate Congress or their state legislature. Most Americans like their Congressional representative or state legislator(s).

Many or most Americans dislike the political parties; but, they like their local Democrat/Republican.

Trump is one person and he’s POTUS. He also leads a cult that encompasses 35-45% of Americans. Forty-plus percent of Americans will view him favorably REGARDLESS.

Comparing polling favorability of a POTUS in his honeymoon to the polling favorability of the out-of-power opposition party is stupid.

It’s part of Amerika today…..poll all the time…..no need to discuss anything when we have meaningless polling data to discuss.

It's too late. 60 were needed to pass the dirty CR in the Senate. Schumer capitulated. He had it backwards. Now Trump controls every news cycle - today it's defying court orders to deport alleged criminals...but not back to the home country. That's a win for Trump.

If the dirty CR down't pass the Senate then that is in the news cycle 24/7 and Democrats control the news cycle and take command. They can focus on the eocnomy stock market, assault on higher education, rule of law, lost jobs, damaged economy in the red states because of DOGE and Trump's insanity.
