Photos you’ve taken

Pretty damn good country ham comes out of Chatham County, North Carolina for my money. My momma used to always send me back to Chapel Hill with a big basket of Ham Biscuits when I came home on a weekend. That and laundry drew me back fairly often.

BTW...I always provide a Moon Pie and Nabs tray for Departmental Functions.
My dad liked the Virginia peanut hams and man they were salty. One of my favorite stories about Chatham County hams was Dr. Lloyd in Carrboro got a call from a farmer down in Bear Creek and drove down to help the farmer wife. This was in the 1930s during the depression and apparently the farmer didn’t have any money so he gave Dr. Lloyd a ham. The story goes at about three days later. The fellow showed up at Dr. Lloyd’s in Carrboro with another ham and said the ham I gave you was the bigger ham that I owed to somebody else. This is the one I meant to give you!
Always reminds me of the trap door for chicken payment at the Mast General Store in Valle Crucis!
