So many may not know of Merritts Pasture overlooking Morgan Creek but it’s my salvation living in Chapel Hill!
ETA sorry for the plaque being upside down but Ruby and Eban Merritt owned so much land in Orange County that at a county meeting someone said that Mr. Merritt was buying up the whole county (1930-40s) and Eban responded “That’s not true I only want that which is contiguous to mine!”

Crepuscular rays just before dawn off the coast of Topsail Island, NC. I had never seen or heard of crepuscular rays before taking this photo. Guess I'm not as early of a riser as I have always fancied myself to be. Or maybe, now that I am retired, this is the first time I've gotten up early for no particular reason. Either way, anyday I learn something new is a good day.

Not sure, but this shot could also be similar. I've seen them several times because i enjoyed filming time lapse sunrises and sunsets when i was still in Hawaii. On our drive cross country, i most definitely saw some cool crepuscular rays when approaching Flagstaff. I'll see if i can find them on another sd card.

I didn't realize when Fulton county stadium was taken down that they left the outfield wall.
Several parts of the wall for Forbes Field, 1909 to 1970) are still standing on the U of Pitt campus. It's replacement, Three Rivers Stadium, was imploded in 2000 and was replaced by separate football and baseball stadiums.

Went down to The Metro Diner (2641 Broadway) for a supper of breakfast last night. The restaurant is on the ground floor of The Grimm Building. It’s an odd edifice, only three stories and primarily wooden so it stands out as out of place among the brick and stone stories tall structure all around.
