Please Call Your Senators And Tell Them To Not Fund ICE (Vote is on the 30th)

Defunding or eliminating ICE obviously isn't going to happen in the current environment, so let's take baby steps first and start by demilitarizing ICE. *Immigration and Customs Enforcement* does not need to have a budget that is more than the entire defense budget of many countries. And *Immigration and Customs Enforcement* does not need to be equipped with the kind of weaponry that we use on foreign battlefields (AR-15's, Kevlar vests, grenades, etc.). Anyone who believes otherwise is a feckless, bootlicking moron who is a total waste of the sacrifice that every single person who has ever laid down their life or limb to grant this country the freedom and liberty to not be ruled by a tyrannical government and its secret police force.
Not sure I entirely agree. These things tend to be completely impossible until all at once they aren’t. Keep the pressure up.

ICE deports people who are already in the country but shouldn't be.

So, if CBP lets someone in, and they end up being a murdered, ICE kicks them back out.
If ICE is kicking out murderers, then who is going to kick out ICE murderers ?

But you failed to answer the question that I asked. I asked what is the harm in defunding a violent ICE organization that is terrorizing American citizens and immigrants who are in the country legally. At this point ICE meets the definition of domestic terrorism.

Because we need federal agents dedicated to getting non-citizens out of the country that don't belong here.
But surely you agree that they don’t need AR-15’s, hand grenades, and Kevlar vests to do their jobs deporting abuelitas y niño’s, si?

Yeah but they especially need to follow the law themselves. These ain't them. Disband this group of imbeciles and fire their leaders. Charge those guilty of crimes including giving and taking bonuses for arrest and start over with professionals and not a bunch of misfits and delinquents.

Grenades? No.

I'm generally ok with all types of law enforcement having AR-15s since the people they interact with have access to them and especially if ICE is trying to capture a known violent criminal.

Yeah, man, they sure needed those AR-15’s to detain and deport that little five-year-old boy in the floppy ear winter hat!

I know for a fact that normal cops carry such weapons in their vehicles unless they need them and don't just randomly carry them around. I guess a phallus substitute is a phallus substitute and the insecure have to parade them around.

Your answer is what is called a tautology fallacy.

Let's try again. What is the harm to the country if we allow undocumented immigrants who have lived here peacefully for years to remain and continue contributing to our society ?

I ask this as someone who has not suffered any harm perpetrated by any peaceful undocumented immigrant in my 74 years here in the USA.

But I'm guessing that maybe you have suffered harm from a peaceful undocumented immigrant ?

I mean, they won't always need AR-15s and obviously a 5 yr old isn't going to be packing an AR, but his dad might.

I'm not concerned about the peaceful immigrants who just want to improve their lives, though we do (and should) deport non-criminal immigrants who, for example, have had their asylum case heard and denied.

We need a federal agency to be responsible for deporting all the people who our laws have determined shouldn't be here.

Well, since you’re the guy who told us that he wouldn’t intervene if law-enforcement agents were beating the crap out of his wife and children, forgive us if we don’t take your opinion on opposing totalitarian police state-type antics terribly seriously!

Like this elderly American couple ? It smacks of domestic terrorism to me . What do you think ?

I was presented with ridiculous scenarios that have a 0.0001% chance of happening, none of which involved my wife and kids, and asked if we should legalize citizens intervening in questionable police activity. The actual example being George Floyd and Rodney King.

I said, and still believe, that's legalizing citizens intervening in police situations that they don't like is an insane proposition.

It's not nearly as bad as legalizing ICE to interfere with citizens and people otherwise here legally. They are the ones acting insanely.
