Please Call Your Senators And Tell Them To Not Fund ICE (Vote is on the 30th)

Homan being put in charge to change course regarding the deportation strategy. He was bypassed by Noem/Miller who wanted broad based deportations with the focus on numbers based upon quotas. Trump saw that was becoming too heavy handed and is now changing course.

1. Focus returns to finding, detaining and deporting illegal alien criminals, gangbangers or those accused of serious crimes. It appears Homan has now secured Minnesota's cooperation on that front;
2. Secondary focus on deporting the 10-12M aliens that Biden let in during his administration.
3. Once 1 and 2 are completed my prediction is that Trump will then be willing to have a reasonable conversation about what to do with the long term illegals who've been in this country working and not involved in crime. He understands their contributions towards the hospitality industry, construction, landscaping, meat packing, etc. Give them a work permit (not citizenship) allowing them to remain in the country as long as they are productive members of society. The permit can be renewed every 2 to 3 years.
4. This works for me since the border is now secure.

I am digging how "You Are Ignoring Posts From This User" is keeing this thread pinned to the top of the board.

Bravo! Nicely done!

(The rest of you, please call your Senators today if at all possible, it means the world. Thanks!!!)

Not funding ICE sounds like a terrible idea.

De-funding ICE is dumb.

So is the exponential increase they got in funds.

According to data found on USASpending.gov, ICE allocated funds to the tune of around $12 billion in FY2025, which left it with unused, roll-over funding of $73 billion. With $4 billion newly allocated in FY2026, the agency's theoretical budget for the running year stands at around $77 billion, while other calculations put it even higher at $79 billion. This is more than Border and Custom Protection's $78 billion, the Coast Guard's $34 billion, the Federal Prison System's $10 billion or the FBI's $8 billion. As part of the new funding, ICE said it added 12,000 new officers (up from around 10,000). The funding has also been associated with increasing capacity to hold 116,000 people in ICE detention per day (this number rose to almost 71,000 at the end of December).

Let's see how shutting the government down 2 times in 4 months plays with the public at large. Particularly, when the public sees the ICE and Border Patrol officers continuing in their deportations at 100% capacity.

We really need to change the law so that Congressmen are not paid during shutdowns so they can put their money where their mouth is.
