Pregnancy termination for medical reasons

Thank you all for the kind remarks and well wishes. Needless to say, last week was a very tough and emotional week. Instead of talking about all of that, I want to focus on the positivity. Throughout our ordeal, we met with many doctors, specialists, nurses, counselors, etc... Everyone was so kind and empathetic. They all went above and beyond, and made things as smooth as possible for us. It was also the people like you that sent their well wishes and more. In a time where the world feels so dark, people that helped us and people like you restored my faith in humanity. It makes me believe that no matter how bad things are in the world, there are enough genuine people out there that will make our future a bright one, no matter the hurdles we have to overcome in the meantime.

Thanks again for all your thoughts, and I truly appreciate it.

A few years ago as a man without kids i didn't understand just how difficult miscarriages could be or just how difficult the IVF process can be. And now I know first hand it's stressful and can be heart-wrenching at times.

I hate to re-ignite the fire, but i'm almost more angry with the insurance cos than the Nc laws.

Keep your head up though, our IVF journey was a long, low-odds slog but we're glad we went thru it and we're fortunate the science made things possible.
 
Fuck pro life, bible thumpers. Hey, maybe god gave us the science to terminate pregnancies that lead to babies with no quality of life. Maybe?

We had an easy decision, as there was no doubt the baby had trisomy 18. Plus, we already had a 3 year old. There was no way I was going to cast him aside as we put all our time and resources into taken care of a child with no brain function. And then the bonus of watching his sister die.

We had to make the 6 hour drive to Atlanta. Fucking cocksuckers.

I hope you and you wife are finding peace and doing as best as you can.
