We dropped our landline telephone service several years ago. And at the time, I replaced the telephone plug ports with a plain white cover. We are remodeling our home and my wife wants the landline wall access points to be plastered over. Is anyone aware of some technology on the horizon that will utilize the archaic landline wiring system and, as such, make plastering over the acess points a bad idea?

ETA: Not talking about pulling the wiring, just plastering over were the wall mounts were.

Can't imagine that there would be one. I'd take off the cover, push the wires in the box and put one of those metal backed drywall patches over it.
