That was the consensus. He ate one that was spit roasted over some charcoal near Huascaran. I tried termites straight off the trees in Belize (tasted like minty carrots) but decided to pass on the Peruvian cuy. That being said, I have tried and liked fried squirrel so I imagine it wasn't all that different.
