My monthly donations go to American Indian Services and Thurgood Marshall College Fund (both highly rated by charity navigator).
Though I’m generally against humans reproducing, my eyes and ears tell me they continue to do so. As result, my end of year “big” donation went to a local diaper bank. Diapers don’t qualify for SNAP. While Medicaid will pay for them under certain circumstances, my understanding is it requires a doctor’s rx, which is just another layer of permission structure and need-to-know to heap on poor folk who already deal with more stress on avg. Diapers can run $100+ a month.
I also donated my fantasy football winnings (thank you Jayden Daniels, Devonta Smith, and Bijan) to a local residential hospice that specializes in deinstitutionalizing (serene, warm setting) end of life for folks that don’t have that kind of home setting and supports.
I’ve previously donated to Dana Farber, Lymphoma and Leukemia society, and Mayo, but that same amount has a truly direct impact with a local diaper bank, food bank, or hospice, so don’t forget those.

My giving is largely for organizations on whose boards I’ve served, since I clearly have an affinity for them, but I also know that my money is used well: Communities in Schools, Triad Health Project, YWCA, and especially the Arc of High Point.
