I want to make sure I have this correct...Republicans...who have embraced, lauded, and gifted us Donald J. Trump are concerned about Democracy, representation, and fairness?

L O fucking L

These sons of bitches invented the concept of political expediency dominating every thought, deed, and action with ZERO compunction about violating every rule of decorum, ethics, and law. It will be a frosty day in hell before I spare one moment of thought about the poor disenfranchised Republicans in Virginia from my disenfranchised seat here in North Carolina.

Don't hate the playa, fuckers...hate the game.

Or, decide to be actual human beings again and admit that your monstrous choices led us all here in the first place so that we can purge ourselves of the kind of people who only care about political expediency.

Congrats VA Dems in voting to disenfranchise your fellow citizens. I'm sure this will make your conservative brethren really support democracy in general and their "representative" government in particular. "This is what democracy looks like" indeed. I mean no question there's gerrymandering out there but 9% representation for Republicans in a purple state takes the cake.

Fortunately, the battle is not over.

1st. The Va supreme court gets to weigh in. This amendment was passed ignoring procedural rules and the wording is suspect. The Tazewell Circuit Court just ruled the referendum unconstitutional and the judge entered an injunction blocking certification of the election and denied a motion to stay pending appeal.

2nd. On to Florida!

3rd: Wait until the Supreme Court overturns racial gerrymandering in the Congressional redistricting process. Could shift 12-14 seats.

And Finally: the 2030 Census likely will shift another 10-12 seats.

Enjoy the victory as this is definitely a short term L for Rs caused, in part, by Trump.

Hey, sorry your pedophile party lost last night and is going to get their ass kicked in November. Enjoy going through the rest of history wearing that scarlet letter for supporting the worst president of all time.

Lololololol you just start picking out those pronouns now, partner! Pick several. We’ve got veto power.

And please, PLEASE, please make sure your party tries redrawing in Florida. I am begging you. Please. Even Republicans in FL are begging DeSantis to not do it!

DeSantis already said he won’t redraw Florida if the Va Supreme Court overturns the referendum. It seems like California would have been a nice place to stop since it neutralized Texas.

It would have been stupid to stop at California. For far too long Democrats have been feckless, impotent play by the rules cowards. Now the gloves are off and you guys can’t stand it. Ain’t no fun when the rabbit has the gun!

There’s a very, very easy way to solve this: pass the federal gerrymandering ban for which exactly 100% of Democratic congress members would vote yes and exactly 0% of their Republican counterparts would do the same. Until then, enjoy being the minority party for a while after November!

1. No. You don't get to do a "heads we win, tails we draw" deal here. You opened a box and now it's punching you in the face. Here's an idea -- don't open the fucking box next time. Don't open the box until you know what's in it and what it will do. You know, like Iran. Or tariffs. Or executive power.

You hit someone in the balls, don't complain when your ass gets kicked.

2. DeSantis isn't going to redraw Florida anyway, because it would be a dummymander. Did you see that diagram a week or two ago now -- about what NC's congressional representation will look like with a Dem +9? I think it was 11-3 Dem.

You dummymander Florida, with this disastrous war and the resulting inflation coming down the pipeline, and oh the economy sucks, and oh we are going to fucking lose this war . . . and we might end up with a 2/3 majority lol.

I’m searching for your post objecting to Texas’s redistricting plan before they enacted it, but I can’t put my finger on it. Any chance you could find it for me?

Pubs played the long game to get the supreme court, and probably have it locked down for at least another two decades. The party that has the supreme court can afford to be shortsighted in the way that the party that does not cannot.
Except Dems need to pack the court in 2029. The only thing that sets the size of the court is a simple statute that can be changed through a basic act of Congress. The gloves have to be off.
