Trump carried that county with 63% of the vote. I would post this on the FAFO thread, but that would be cruel and in bad taste.I always do the roundup or pay for care packages at grocery store. Got to do more now. This will be brutal in Robeson county.
I agree. It is very frustrating to see "rubes " vote against their economic interests year after year. And part of me agrees that we should let them suffer the pain in hopes that they will have an epiphany and realize which party is committed to improving the lives of working and middle class folks.Part of me feels let 'we the people' feel the full impact of our current less than a perfect union and it's lack of promotion of the general welfare. Until the scales come off the eyes the billionaires (and newly minted trilionaires) will continue to laugh at how they have gotten the rubes to support them.
They’ll blame “liberal elites,” “waste and fraud,” “giving money to immigrants.” They won’t blame the GQP……certainly not in 2026 or 2028.I agree. That said, I do not want those pour souls to go hungry so I will continue my contributions to our local food bank... but with mixed feelings

Maybe some of these "very nice automobiles" are friends or family members giving someone without means a ride. Maybe it's somebody who just lost a good paying job and doesn't know how they're going to be able to afford food.delivered a couple of truckloads to a local food bank yesterday.....lots of very nice automobiles in line 3 deep
every system in this country is loaded with tons of corruption unfortunately
While I do understand this opinion, I have to fight it myself. @rodoheel made a really good point in a response last week that we are never going to get anywhere if we don't learn to move past this and take a big tent approach to sharing our opinions.I’ll need to know who you voted for before I provide you this aid.
I've read so much on social media where some use actual bible verses to support how our country is treating immigrants, so nothing surprises me any longer.Truly what Jesus would do.
Yeah, I’m not there. Eff ‘em.While I do understand this opinion, I have to fight it myself. @rodoheel made a really good point in a response last week that we are never going to get anywhere if we don't learn to move past this and take a big tent approach to sharing our opinions.
Yup. Also a 501(c)3 so your gifts are tax deductible and if you’re fortunate enough to have a donor directed giving fund set up you can donate from that. This ^. I usually donate to Food Bank of Eastern-Central NC, but whichever fills the need for you.
It really pisses me off to see MAGAs blame the dems for stopping SNAP, especially those that call themselves Christians. They aren't doing a damn thing to actually address the problem. I feel my heart pound and my blood boil. Any response just starts some bullshit tit for tat; no one changes their mind. I finally realized a few weeks ago that the only way for me to find peace is to actually do what Jesus did and said, so I sent money to our soup kitchen. That is my act of rebellion.I've read so much on social media where some use actual bible verses to support how our country is treating immigrants, so nothing surprises me any longer.
At the food bank we manned, in some cases, 4 families would show up in 1 car.Maybe some of these "very nice automobiles" are friends or family members giving someone without means a ride. Maybe it's somebody who just lost a good paying job and doesn't know how they're going to be able to afford food.
I hope you don't pull a muscle jumping to conclusions.
